Leather pendant with embroidery “Mallow”

Leather pendant with hand-embroidered “Mallow”. The ornament depicted on the pendant symbolized the sun. It has long been used for painting Easter eggs. It encodes a straight cross and a slanting cross, which are typical solar sings. The mallow flower itself in Ukraine is considered a symbol of family harmony and love for native home.

In this pendant, I tried to combine the symbolism of sun and native home. These are two sources of human vitality, because it is our roots and high striving that make us strong.

The pendant is made of genuine leather. The embroidery is made by hand with waxed thread. Leather cuts are treated with special protective agents.
