Description
Hutsul four-pointed brass cross.
Zgardy (in the singular ′Zgard′, masculine) are amulets in the form of crosses, which, by analogy with Christian ones, were called Maltese or Teutonic crosses. The name Zgard originated from Sanskrit. ′Svarga′ - that is Svarga, the Universe.
From ancient times it was believed that this amulet is a symbol of the unity of the four earthly elements: earth, fire, air and water. This symbol also reveals the relationship between time and space, energy and information.
Sometimes the Maltese cross depicts the crucifix of man, which symbolizes the purpose of man - to listen and follow God′s will.
Zgard (Maltese Cross) is a sign of human harmony with the whole world.
These ornaments are unique witnesses to the preserved traditions that have survived to our time and have not lost their cautious power.
You can wear the pendant as a stand-alone piece of jewelry, or combine it with a coral necklace.
It looks very nice with an embroidered shirt.
