Wedding towel ′ Procreation ′

Autumn - it′s time for weddings! And what a Ukrainian wedding without an embroidered towel!
This is a handmade towel, embroidered by me in the Ukrainian technique of ′rocking chair′, which has its roots in ancient times. The towel is protective because it contains embroidered elements that have a protective function, such as: Mallow (amulet of the genus), octagonal star (symbol of the Mother), etc. Also in the ornament there are many elements that symbolize the functions of masculine origin and female procreation, fertility.
The edges of the towel are crocheted and decorated with tassels that can be easily removed if necessary.
The work uses a 100% cotton towel and high-quality DMC mouline threads (made in France). Threads of 100% cotton made in Turkey were used to trim the edges and tassels.
Towel length - 2.5 m, width - 50 cm.


Warning!!! The work uses natural materials that can shrink when washed. Therefore it is necessary to use only hand washing at a temperature of 30-40 degrees. Do not overdry! Iron with steam, embroidered places only on the reverse side!
